Metalites

A parasitic race of metalic insects, has 4 known stages, some say a 5th exists. First is the egg stage, it can take any shape, and is usually determined by the adult stage parent, can't do much in egg, in fact if there's a defect in the larvae it wont be able to hatch and will die due to starvation/ suffocation. The Larval stage also has many forms, which depends on habitat and egg shape, it goes completely on instinct and will die if it can't find a host in five days by starvation, when it finds a host it will eat the hosts organs and body, it will usually go for the eyes and heart last, going for the brain before then, it will then ask the host if it would like to merge, if the host says no the larvae can try take over by force, but if the host has a strong will, the metalite will die, the host will then have its life span cut in half and will have a hard time supporting itself. Caccoon stage, if the host says yes, the metalite will go after the eyes, then finish up the brain, attaching wires from itself to the brain so it can control it while finishing up. The metalite then removes its bio-metalic producing organ, making more of it in process to increase its size and grafting it to the host's organ system, still having a tube attached to itself, it then spews from the hosts mouth a the same bio-metalic material it used before to quickly incase itself before eating the heart and replacing it with the bio-metalic material heart, which will then "kill" the host, it goes back to the bio-metal producing organ and seals off the tube attached to it and cuts it off, it then goes back to the brain and merges with it and attempts to restart the hosts bodily systems, since the bio-metal producing organ is close to the heart, and has a tube attached to the throat as well, it can producethis material from any part of its body through the blood stream and mouth. this process takes about a day, and then two days to rest up and prepare to break out of caccoon, the body is knocked out during this time. If damaged in first day the Metalite will die, when the metalite merges with the host's brain, it merges their minds as well, but lets it think at double the pace as well as seperate thoughts so as to figure out several things out at once. The next and "final" stage is the Adult stage, not much is known about them since they are rare and tend to adapt for a while before settling in their body and having a fighting style of its own there are two forms the humanoid and beast forms, and they have several classes and sub classes among them, thus they have varying weaknesses and strengths, but they have weaknesses of metal though. The fabled 5th stage, sometimes called the Evolved stage or Legendary stage, hasnt been proven to exist but it is said that it has a third form and they can switch between all three forms by shifting through the third form, which reduces weaknesses and increases strengths, not much is consistant between all the stories told about this stage.
